Auburn Warriors                   34
Windsor Wolves                    26

The Auburn Warriors were pushed all the way in their clash with the Windsor Wolves eventually running out 34-26 winners.

Auburn were looking to cement 2nd spot on the ladder while the Wolves were looking to register their third win on the trot. Both sides had early ball but squandered possession negating any chances they had to cross the line. Auburn crossed early but their lead could have been a lot more. Windsor also threw away possession with poor ball control. Auburn sailed out to a 20-10 half time lead before the Wolves roared into action levelling the scores at 26 all.

Auburn looked to have scored with their first use of the ball but Jordan Hall failed to ground the ball. The 2nd rower was over the line but was very relaxed planting the ball. This didn’t hurt the Warriors momentum with the home side crossing with their next use of the steeden. Auburn put together a well orchestrated set which saw them go 100 metres before Sione Kaiveleta crossed wide out. Windsor then produced a number of chances on the Warriors line but squandered the possession cheaply. The amount of possession the visitors had finally paid off with Matt Boss crossing after 17 minutes of play. Auburn regained the lead on the back of a strong charge to the line by Matt Utai. Windsor looked to have levelled six minutes later but Fairhouz Elknader failed to plant the ball chasing a grubber. Auburn made the Wolves pay with Arthur Little slicing through some poor defence to score. Windsor were their own worst enemy gifting Auburn cheap field position on the back of school boy errors coming off their own line. Auburn made them pay with Jamie Stanley winning the race to a McGrady grubber. Windsor reduced the lead right on half time with Kieron Croft powering his way across wide out.

Auburn were first on the scoreboard for the 2nd stanza with McGrady crossing after 30 seconds of play. The ball was spread wide from the kick off resulting in a long run from Kaiveleta who found McGrady on his inside for the try. The next twenty minutes belonged to the Wolves. They finally started to string some plays together which resulted in three tries. The first came through a monumental effort from Pat Hollis. Hollis carried numerous defenders across the line and some how managed to plant the ball. The Wolves were at it again eight minutes later with Croft bagging his 2nd. The scores were level when Hollis raced through a gap the size of the Sydney Heads to score. Auburn then received a penalty twenty metres out right in front. McGrady sent the ball through the sticks setting up a grandstand finish. The Warriors took the gamble running the ball on the last. The gamble came up trumps with Kaiveleta bagging the match winner.
