Guildford's Sione Tonga goes on a long run.

Guildford Owls                     32
Cabramatta                          20

The Guildford Owls registered win number three this season with a come from behind 32-20 victory over cross town rivals Cabramatta.

Cabramatta made the perfect start to the match skipping out to a 10-0 lead after just 7 minutes A shocked Guilford kicked into gear regaining the lead by half time. A 2nd half hat-trick to winger Josh Beadman set up the gutsy win.

Cabramatta registered first points of the afternoon when they were gifted great field position on the back of an Owls error. From the ensuing set Ernest Alo sent Amanono Tovio on a saloon passage to the try line. Cabramatta extended their lead three minutes later after the Owls watched a bomb bounce which saw Derek Peachey collect the ball before powering his way across the line to score. Guildford’s hit back was immediate with the ball kept alive by John Brady which saw Vincent Fonoti cross wide out. The next fifteen minutes was spent camped in the Owls red zone with Cabramatta throwing everything they had at the home side. In a great display of defence the Owls kept their opponents at bay and reaped the rewards at the other end of the field. The Owls finally saw some ball which resulted in Lazarus Brown going himself to level the scores. Guildford took the lead four minutes before the break after another long raid was finished by Shane Hunt. Guildford exposed some non-existent Cabramatta middle defence.

Cabramatta almost levelled the scores just after the break but Henry Iuta was held up on the last tackle. Next set Guildford went the length of the field to score through hooker Michael Luong. Luong caught the Cabramatta markers on the hop to score. Guildford then extended their lead to two converted tries with Beadman producing a superman effort to get to the try line just inside the corner post. Cabramatta received their first penalty of the match in the 64th minute which resulted in back to back sets on the Owls line. The visitors didn’t disappoint their travelling fans with Sione Schaaf scoring in the corner. The joy was short lived for Cabramatta with John Brady laying on the next four pointer. Brady chipped over the defensive line before turning the ball back to Brown, as Brown was falling he throw a no look flick pass which found an un-marked Beadman for the try. Guildford put the result beyond doubt with Beadman crossing for his third. The try was set up by a lovely short ball from prop Nayven Taouk which sent Fou Tagilima through a hole before the centre sent Beadman over. Cabramatta finished the match on a high with Schaaf bagging his 2nd after another Peachey flick.
